July Festival - Useful Information & FAQ's

Please refer to the information below providing all the information you will need to get you ready for the upcoming festival.

Please reach us at Southfestivals@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Please note that the rear car park is not accessible due to building works. No access is available from the rear of the building (this was used at previous festivals but is not possible this time, all access is from the front reception and car park).

The car park gates will only open approximately 5 minutes before door opening time of 8.00am and therefore please do not block roads waiting for access.

The car park entrance and reception are accessed via Montpelier Road (some satnavs recognise this as Vernon Gardens), the postcode for SatNav - BN1 3AT.  See download at the bottom of the page for picture of entrance for your information.

Please note, as a city centre festival parking is limited, wherever possible please consider car share and public transport options.  Please ensure you park responsibly. If the car park is full, there are Pay by Phone parking spaces in the streets behind the school. (One side of the road is Permit holder and the other is Pay by Phone parking in the surrounding area - please check signage).

Due to limited spaces, you must only park for the duration of your festival visit. Vehicle Registration will be taken on arrival to monitor stays and to identify any vehicles parked inconsiderately.

We respectfully request for vehicles to be removed once finished performing each day and not left parked onsite if intending to explore Brighton.

Nearby car parks - For shorter stays Waitrose Car Park is just down the hill on the same road as the school. If you are staying all day and unable to find a space, Brighton Station Car Park s approximately a 10-minute walk.

Parking Alternatives - For peace of mind a number of parking spaces are available to book online through Your Parking Space and Just Park nearby to the venue.

Any visitors found to be abusing the parking facility will be refused access for the remaining duration of the festival.

Thank you for your co-operation.

Doors will open at 8.00am each day.  As there is a short turnaround between entrance times and the first section (usually around 30minutes), we ask all competitors in the first couple of sections to  arrive with hair and make up done to ensure no delays.

Changing Areas have been allocated by dance school.  A poster will be displayed in the entrance foyer detailing the location of your changing room.

A family changing room is available for those requiring both male/female attendance.

Please note that the changing area locations have changed since previous festivals and are only accessible via the front entrance.

Please ensure you respect the property and dispose of any rubbish responsibly, leaving changing areas in a clean and tidy condition.  All changing rooms will be monitored and any schools to be found disrespecting property will be retricted from using the changing facilities.

Please note that entry tickets are available for half-day (morning or afternoon with lunchtime as the cut-off) or full-day spectator tickets.

Please ensure your wristband is affixed to your wrist at the point of purchase and be prepared to show your wristband on request.

Due to previous Wi-Fi difficulties within the venue, we cannot accept card payments and therefore please note this is a CASH ONLY venue for ticket purchases and refreshments.

Complimentary entry is provided for registered performers.

Full day - Adults £10/Children £5.

Half Day - Adults £6/Children £3

Each Dance School will be provided with1 teacher's pass which is non-transferable to competitors or parents.

Due to previous Wi-Fi difficulties within the venue, we cannot accept card payments and therefore please note this is a CASH ONLY venue for ticket purchases and refreshments.

No photography or video is allowed except for the onsite professional photographers.  We are delighted to welcome Select Photo Services to our July festival who will be offering their professional photography to all of the performers/parents/guardians. Prints and digital images will be available onsite at their photo desk in the foyer.

We take the safeguarding and protection of the children and young people who participate in our festivals seriously.  For details on our Safeguarding Policy please view this here
